Snowboard boots bindings (Brendan West)

Are you interested in an alternative ski boot and binding for use with your skibob? I am an amputee and have been ski bobbing with BLESMA for a number of years and like most of the limbless fraternity have experienced problems with the weight of traditional ski boots and bindings.

Not only are the boots a little uncomfortable, but most importantly of all they are heavy. A couple of years ago the membership secretary Paul Burns came up with a novel idea to improve foot comfort on a skibob.

He bought a pair of lightweight snowboard boots and bindings. He then talked nicely to a ski hire shop in Soelden, Austria who kindly cut down a pair of old skis and fixed them to the bindings.

These have now caught on in a big way with the BLESMA group and some 6 or 7 people ride skibobs with these boots. My personal view is that these boots and bindings are great.

Please note that these boots and bindings are not approved by FISB for racing.
